We are having a wonderful time in Vegas. Though I can't say it is relaxing at all. We have been on the move for early morning to late at night. I was at WPPI convention from 7:20am to 8:30pm today, and tomorrow I will start early and end at 10:30pm. It has been so fun...meeting new people/photographers and learning from the best and most creative people out there. I hope my little brain does not fail me tomorrow....it is all quite overwhelming.
Jayme is having fun doing his own thing. Exploring the surrounding canyons and valleys around the Vegas area. He is really enjoying it! Well...we are exhausted, and need the 6 hours of sleep that I am going to hopefully going to get tonight.
We will be back in Michigan on Thursday.

Off to Vegas

It is finally here. Jayme and I are heading to Vegas tonight for a vacation and for me to go to the best photography convention in the nation...WPPI. We are both really excited to get away together.
I will be bringing my laptop and try to blog while I am there, and I will be checking my my email each day. So email me if you need to...I will be checking.

Baby Gavin

Some of you faithful blog followers of mine may remember last year me asking for prayers for little Baby Gavin. He had extensive heart surgery shortly after he was born. He has recovered 100% and was told by his Doctors that he could live a normal life and do whatever he would like to do in his life. Its so amazing to see him now, and see how happy and healthy he is. Here are some photos from his one year old photo shoot. Isn't he just way too cute? =)

In the last two weeks, I have heard some information from my friend Randi Frucci of "TaDa Event Planning" about a Women's Expo this month. So this was kind of last minute for me...but I am excited to see how it all works out. The people heading this up are really cool and this sounds like a great event. So come on out and check it out...bring your moms, sisters, girlfriends to a great event at the Radisson. The dates are Feb 20th and the 21st. Friday evening 6pm-9pm and Saturday from 11am-4pm. I just recently was able to my new camera. The Canon 5D mark II. I was sooooo excited. It came out in November, but everybody was out of stock on it....so I went to Normans for another reason and just happened to ask if they had any in stock, and they had 30! I was shocked....so I waited until the next day to buy it...mainly to transfer ALOT of money over to my checking account, and when I got there...they had two left. I got LUCKY! These cameras are so popular right now. I also was able to get a lens I have had my on for a long time. The 50mm 1.2.....and I LOVE it!!!!!!! This lens gave me shivers when I put it on my camera and took some photos...it is sweet. So, I am excited to try it out at a wedding. My next wedding is in April, so excited. =)
Next week, Jayme and I leave for Vegas for a mini vacation/photography convention. I am so excited to go to WPPI and learn all that my little brain can comprehend. Of course I will have some photos to show you all when we get back. Can you tell I am excited. =)

I am really starting to hate Winter. Honesty, this is just not fun anymore. Norah and I are always cooped up inside. We would love to go outside and play in the snow...but I have standards (and common sense) that it has to be about 25 degrees to do so, and sadly that has been quite rare in january. Well, only one more day to go, hopefully Feb. will bring us some relief. The nice this about Feb. is.....it means we are closer to going to Vegas. I am so excited to go to WPPI, and go on a vacation with my husband.
As part of my Christmas gift to myself, and an "end of the year write off purchase" I bought a studio strobe light, and love it. So the bottom two photos are of Norah just chilling while I was snapping away and playing with my new light.

I have always enjoyed scrapbooking. I literally have a closet full of scrapbooks...I know because I just cleaned out that closet. =)
In the last 4 years, since I discovered the wonderful world of photoshop...I have gone to the awesome side of digital scrapbooking. It is so fun and allows me to showcase my photos in the way I really want to. I love grabbing my laptop and portable external drive and go scrapbooking with my friends and family. Below are two of my favorite pages of Jayme and Norah. For some reason, I have way too many photos of those two. =)

On another note, I have been quite social lately. I have been meeting some wonderful couples this month....and most of them have given me the great honor to photograph their wedding. January is always the month I book quite a few weddings for the year.

life as I see it.

I kept busy this past week preparing for the Kalamazoo Bridal Affair..a great bridal show put on by the "Kalamazo Bride". It was great exposure for me, and I met some wonderful people in the wedding business here in Kalamazoo.
We have been trying to keep warm here in Michigan...this weather is so tough to tolerate beyond one full day. I am so ready for a balmy 40 degree day again. =) On a much more exiciting note...Jayme and I booked our trip to Vegas!! Any of you photographers out there may have heard of WPPI...for those of you who have not...it is the largest photography trade show and convention in the US. I am so thrilled to be able to go and learn from some of the best photographers in the world....and hopefully escape this cold weather, even for just a couple days.
Below are some photos of my two favorite people in the world. Norah was showing off her mad gymnastic skills....the girl is going to win me a gold medal someday! =) She is just so darn cute these days. The two year old things she does or says are priceless. I love her way too much. =)

Nate and Emily: Wedding

This was a wedding I won't soon forget. I loved their ceremony, so so heartfelt, and beautiful. They started out by singing a song of praise to God...loved that. God was so evident in their relationship. I truly enjoyed spending the day with them. Nate, Emily and their wonderful families were so fun to work with...they made my job so easy. I want to give a special "shout out" to my friend Melissa Vannest www.melissavannestphotography.com for second shooting with me...she was a huge help!! Thanks Melissa! =)

Will life ever slow down?? =) I knew the past week would be busy, and it definitely has lived up to that...but life is full and good.
I had the incredible oppurtunity to ring in the New Year by shooting a wedding with my favorite photographer in town...Holly Henderson... www.hollyshotmywedding.com
I met Holly when I went to a photography workshop she was teaching at. I have so admired her work, and just fell in love with her style, her personality, and her amazing generosity. She has been such a mentor to me, and has encouraged me so much this last year. I love this girl. =) So New Year's Eve, I was shooting with her, it was so fun to watch her and husband work their magic at this wedding. I learned so much. I have my own wedding to photograph, and plan to practice what I learned just a few days ago.
On New Year's Day...I met baby Ty. I photographed his big brother in November...and was so honored to be able to photograph him on his two week old birthday. Such a sweetheart.
Well...I am off to bed to get a good night's sleep for tomorrow's wedding...looking forward to a fun day!

Wow, what a busy couple of days of Christmas activities.I hope you all had a wonderful time with your families celebrating Christmas. Norah was so fun to watch this year. She LOVED opening presents. The week before Christmas I was saved by my friend Cindy of www.theopenshutterphoto.com and she was able to get some photos of Norah for me. I gave up. =) Cindy did a great job, thanks girl!!!! =) Nice perk of this career choice...I know some awesome photographers who can help me out in a pinch! =) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all...I hope yours was as special as ours.

Since I am still transferring alot of software to my MAC...I don't have access to my online slideshow I usually do...so when I get it, I will give Craig and Cassie the slideshow they deserve. =) Until then, here are a few of my favorites from their wedding. Cassie was looking amazing that day! And...she was so willing to hike out to the railroad tracks in 20 degree weather to get some great shots. Love how this one turned out. Jayme was the light source behind her. =) He used a little video light, a technique I learned at my Philly workshop with Cliff Mautner.

This one is my favorite....love the light! Before that workshop in Philly...I would have never thought to do something like this.
I always make my couples cuddle. I use that word ALOT on a wedding day. =)

This is a close second in my favorites. LOVE window lighting. She was so beautiful! Still is. =) But something about a wedding dress and marrying the love of your life that makes you just...glow.

Another fustrating attempt....

WHY!! Why is it so hard for me to get a good photograph of my daughter. I had such high hopes today. Cute red dress, beautiful sunny day with snow covered EVERYTHING....however I have one problem...a unpredictable two year old. As soon as we set her down in the snow...she freaked out. And then there is no stopping her. I get so annoyed! All I want is a quick happy photo. HA! You would think I was asking her to recite the Christmas story...she just can't do it! OR...refuses to. So...here is what I ended up with...little does she know, I am going to try again one of these afternoons. I am bigger than her...I can make her behave....notice in the last photo, it shows my weakness/tactic. Bribing with M&Ms..it didn't work for those of you who really want to know. =)

There was no bribing at this point...she was beyond the point of return.

One hour later...after lunch and a couple of M&Ms...this is all she gave me( for approx. one second...good thing my camera is fast). Like I said we will be trying again.

Karen and Matt: Engaged!

When I used to work at Borgess, I worked with Karen. For the last few years, I have beenworking at Borgess as a PRN...which means, I work when I want to...or when they really need me and I am nice enough to cover for them. =) I happened to be working the day that Karen came back from lunch and said..."heh guys, I just got engaged!" Of course we were all way excited. =) I was more than honored when she asked me to photograph their engagement session. It was a cold but beautiful day, and they were so willing to freeze to get their photos done.
So Matt and Karen, I wish you both a beautiful wedding and marriage. I hope you love your photos, it was really fun working with you both!

I had a great time this past week in Philadelphia at Cliff Mautner's photography workshop. He is so good...at that is all I can really say...the man is GREAT. Great teacher, photographer, and person. Loved it all.I learned so much this week, and feel all the more inspired and encouraged as I continue to learn and grow in the business and skill of photography. I LOVE it!! Also...I will be out of town today through Thursday. I will be in Philadelphia, at a great photography workshop. I am going to be learning from "one of the top ten wedding photographers in the world". Haloween 2008

It is becoming a tradition to go to "trick or treating" with the Miller Family, and then to our church, Northbridge, for "trunk or treat". Here are some photos of Norah as "Roo" from "Winnie the Pooh" She loves Roo, and loves to bounce and jump just like him...she enjoyed trick or treating once she realized candy was involved. At first she was very shy, and would grab the candy and go, but after a while...she started to say thank you to everyone. =) It was a fun night, but we unfortunetly have eaten most of the candy. =( Every morning, Norah asks for candy. =)

Costa Rica Mission Trip

We had an amazing time down there. I highly recommend everyone to go to Costa Rica...beautiful country!
We met some wonderful people, and had lots of fun with the missionary families there. Some of the "tourist" things we did were: ziplining through the rainforest, white water rafting, and walking through the rainforest and seeing many stunning waterfalls.
This slideshow highlights some of the trip for us. I took way too many photos...and there is no way they would all fit on a slideshow. =)
A special thank you to the Woolfords (the missionaries down there) they set up the whole trip for us and were wonderful hosts...we love and miss you guys. See you this summer!

Anthony and Marie's Wedding

This is the best wedding of the year for me...ok...I am a bit bias, but this bride is the most beautiful bride I have ever photographed. She is my gorgeous little sister, Marie and her husband Anthony. Marie is the sister who was meant to be in front of the camera..and i am the sister who was meant to be behind the camera...and that is totally ok with me. =)
We flew to North Carolina for their wedding...they actually eloped in July, but had a "real wedding" for the family in October. It was a great time...and I really had fun photographing my sister. The girl can work a camera...so you will see a lot of photos of just her...because she is so cute. =)
So, Marie and Anthony, I wish you both the best, and I will be praying for your new little family. You are loved and missed here in Michigan.

Mission's Trip in Costa Rica

We are so fortunate to have internet access down here!! Here is a photo while we were at church today. These sweet sweet ladies have quickly become our friends. They have opened their homes, hearts and trust to us. We are so honored to have met them, and help them out down here. We had our women's conference yesterday, and it went so well. The ladies were very receptive and asked lots of questions, and seemed very excited to take our advice and use it! God really has blessed all the efforts that were taken to allow this trip to happen. My job now is to edit the photographs I took of the families at church. The families were so excited to have a "professional photographer" take their photo...I felt so honored. =) We have only two more days here, and...wow has time flown by. I will post more photos when I can...probably when I get back home. Love to all my family...see you soon!!

Out of town...

I will be out of town/country throught the end of this month. So...I wanted to quickly post a couple photos from my sister's wedding. We had fun taking photos that day together. I wish we lived closer to each other. I miss my little nephew so much, especially right after I see him. I will post more photos from their wedding when I get back from my trip.

Hearts and Home gang!

This weekend...I got my mommy battery recharged. Twenty seven ladies from our church drove to downtown Grand Rapids to the Hearts at Home conference. This is my third time going...and I LOVE it. It is all about moms, and of course hanging out with girlfriends...we are a crazy bunch of moms and here are some fun photos from our girl's night at the hotel. Love you girls!!! =)

I am starting to see the end of my amazing 2008 wedding season. September was so busy for me, I honestly was dreading it when I looked at my calendar all Summer...but now that I look back. WOW!! It was busy, but so fun! I loved all weddings I did, and David and Heather ended my September on such a high note. Heather was so fun to photograph. She did ANYTHING we asked her to try. "Can you lie on this bench" SURE! "Can you climb that rock fountain...and then close your eyes?" SURE!! I loved that!! =)

The Miller Family

I have know Brian and Aleisha since I was 12 years old. We went to school together. I haven't seen them in ....years! It's amazing how we all grow up and start our families and lives, when I think back to our high school years. I truly enjoyed taking their family photos...they have BEAUTIFUL daughters! They made my job extremely easy!! =)

Missions Trip

Many of you know, I have been planning a missions trip to Costa Rica. One month from today I will be in Costa Rica!! I am really looking forward to this amazing oppurtunity. However, that means LOTS of prep work. I really need to stay on task this month to make all this work. =)
There will be five of us going...and I am thrilled to go with these girls. Not only will we be busy helping a wonderful church and missionary family down there...we will be having FUN. How could you not with us five girls. =)
My main job down there will be photography. On the Sat. we are down there, we are having a women's seminar focussing on discipling others, and dealing with the horrible problem down there...sexual abuse. I will be photographing the event and giving a short speech on how to disciple other ladies, and will be taking photos of the families in the church for a church directory....I have been told most of the families down there have never had a "professional picture" taken of them. So it will be fun to give them that first experience.
So please pray for us. I will post photos when we get back. We will be down there from Oct. 22nd-29th. My sweet Norah will be at Grandma and Grandpa Gregersen's house. I don't think I have to worry about her at all...she loves it there. =)
Ok...off to bed. I have a wedding tomorrow. =)

Dan and Erin's Wedding

Today, I spent the day in my office editing wedding photos. So when Norah and Jayme came home this afternoon...I said "lets get out of here" and we headed to the park. I of course brought my camera, and made this little slideshow of Norah. She loves the park and had a blast there....it was fun to just watch her play. Our little girl is growing up so fast.

Matt and Brooke's Wedding

It may have been rainy (ok downpour) all day, and even a tornado warning...but Matt and Brooke made their day bright and full of love. I need to give a big "shout out" to my amazing assistant...Ray. I honestly could not have done it without him on Saturday!
I am so happy to have gotten to know Matt and Brooke. They are truly kind and fun people to be with... I hope you two have a wonderful time in Europe on your honeymoon!!!

Yesterday's wedding was a challenge for any photographer. Pouring rain...made it very hard on me, I like to just walk around a park with a bride and groom and have fun with it. However, the rain did not allow that. Here is one of my favorite photos of the day. I am working through them now, and even though it was a challenge...I am glad I got to experience it, that is the only way you grow and learn in the field. And everyone there was wonderful. So I will have their slideshow on here soon. But now...I am off to Small Group. Oh...if you all remember, pray for Jayme. Tomorrow is his first day on his new job at Perrigo. He has had the summer off, and it is going to be rough those first few days to get back into the "working world". =)

this week...

Hi all...again another busy week. Jayme had another week off...his new job delayed his start date one more week, which I must admit doesn't bother me one bit. I have gotten used to him at home. He is awesome. As I am working on pictures, I can hear him cleaning up the kitchen. I love that man.

Well, this week has been busy...lets start with 7 days ago. Norah and her sticky little fingers have gotten a hold of my wedding rings...and they are now gone. We have finally given up and called it in to our insurance company. Some of you may remember I lost them last year, and they were found a week later in my work parking lot...well, we are guessing Norah threw them in the garage. =( So...Friday I get to go in and order new rings.

On Sat. I had a wonderful wedding to photograph. It was a PERFECT day....until I dropped my Canon 5D camera at the reception...the strap gave way and it fell right off my body! I was freaking out initially...but I think no major damage was done...except for a remote lighting piece on top of my camera. I am taking it into the camera shop tomorrow, just to have someone look it over. I have another wedding on Sat. and need that camera in well working order. So, as of right now, that fall will cost me $150 to replace that remote....much better than $1500 for the lens!

Fast forward a couple days, and last night was BAD. Norah refused to go to sleep. We all finally crashed after midnight. We "fought" with her for over two hours. Tonight, at 11pm she finally went to bed. We have learned that she is a night owl and we will just have to deal with that...hopefully this phase will not last long.

Here is a quick snapshot of Norah falling asleep one night on the couch...she is so adorable asleep...but she can really put up a fight when she is awake.

Here is one of my favorite photos from the wedding I am working on this week. I will hopefully have it done by Friday....I have a photo session Friday evening and a wedding on Saturday, so need to get it done.

In the midst of my busy wedding season, I have been squeezing in some photo shoots. I am so glad that I am, I am meeting some wonderful people...like Kayla, and her mom and sister. We had a fun and I really mean that a FUN evening together at South Haven for her senior photos. Kayla also loves photography and is taking a class at school...so we talked "shop" a little too. =)

I must admit, working on her photos has been a nice break from the weddings. Now that I am done with her photos...back to weddings. Good thing I LOVE weddings...because I have a bunch of them still to come.

I got to know Keith and Beth earlier this year when I did their engagement photos. Its amazing how fast the summer as gone by and that I am now finishing up their wedding. They had a lovely wedding at the Fetzer Center at WMU. I must say though it was a little warm wasn't it? =)
Beth's dress was so beautiful...one of my favorites this year, I also loved her cake so cheerful. The girl has good taste.

Hi all...just wanted to post a quick blog letting everyone know that things are moving along fast and furious in the Gregersen household. I had two weddings this weekend, and my upper back is still reminding me of that. =) I have 5 more to go this month. It is very very busy, but I knew that it would be. Jayme is going to make it even busier on me...because he got a job! It is a temp. job at Perrigo, with the hopes of getting hired in by early Nov. It isn't the ideal job in our eyes, but we really like the company and their potential, and know they have better jobs in the company once you are in. We are looking at this as an oppurtunity God has given us, He is opening this door for us and this time, and we will take it.
Other than that...I am photographing like crazy, looking to expand my business, still working my physical therapy job twice a week and planning a mission's trip to Costa Rica in Oct. Sounds crazy??? =) Yes, it is. Here are two quick photos of Norah from this summer. Today she is at the zoo with Grandma, Papa, Casey and daddy...so she isn't missing me at all. =)

Norah is now in a toddler bed...which means its a little bit of a battle trying to keep her in bed to fall asleep each night. Well this is how last night went: I got her ready for bed...hugs kisses, prayers, paci, "Snuggles", and her cup. I said "nigh night"...and headed down to my office. About three minutes later I hear little footsteps upstairs and I head up there to see her coming into the kitchen trying to come back to the basement to hang out with us. I told her "Back in bed"...she does a quick 180 and runs back in bed. I said "next time you will get a spanking if you get out of bed". She just looks at me with those insanely beautiful brown eyes...as if to say "we will see won't we". I head back down stairs...and thought I heard footsteps again...but she never came down stairs, so I thought we were ok. I headed to bed about one hour later, and this is what I saw...Norah crashed out at the top of our stairs to the basement...she knew she would get in trouble if I saw her, yet..she was so willing to risk it to not be in that bed. Jayme and I had a good laugh about it, and of course I had to get my camera out. So we shall see how tonight works. She is still going strong at 9:30pm...I am ready for bed, but she seems to still have energy to spare. good thing she is cute...because she sure knows how to be naughty. =)

New Logo

I am so excited!! I just got my new logo from the graphic designer I have been working with for a couple of weeks. She did a great job. I wanted something simple, clean, and a touch of whimsy, and this is what she made. I love the flowers...notice they are blooming...hopefully that symbolizes my future business. =) When I look at it...I think, its so me.! Then...earlier today we were in Chicago at IKEA and I found this amazing canvas of light pink magnolia blossoms...I couldn't believe it, it matched my logo perfectly, so now it is in my office. I was in Chicago to see David Jay and Jasmine Star for a wonderful photography seminar on marketing. David Jay is "the photographer" of the photography world. He really inspired me with my business. And Jasmine was so cute and energetic, she really encouraged me to continue what I am doing...and that I am on the right track. Norah and Jayme came to Chicago too...we made a little 24 hour getaway out of it. Though, if you plan to go to IKEA...don't take your toddler!! =)

Misty is the owner of "Symmetry Hair Design" in downton K-zoo. I had a great time!! Our stunning and adorable model, Jill, was a perfect fit for this project. Canvas Prints!!

I recently hooked up with this great canvas printing company to add the option of getting enlarged canvas prints to my clients. I personally LOVE them. They take a photograph, and make it shine!! The one of Norah is a 18"x24" print, and the one of our family is a 20"x30". Many people think those sizes are too big...but when you put them on your wall...they look amazing.
You may ask what exactly is a canvas print well...it is a photograph printed on a museum-quality canvas and hand stretched onto a custom built 1.5" thick wooden frame. They are made with the highest quality archival inks that will never fade or discolor. Each is sprayed with a UV coating for added protection and a gloss-type finish.
I highly recommend you make the investment into your own personal piece of art...of your child or your family. That family print of mine will be cherish by Norah for her lifetime...I hope that one day she will have that hanging in her home.

I was born in the U.P. (some like my husband, think that is some kind of handicap), but I love my heritage from the "Copper Country"...we took a quick trip the Keewenaw Penisula to see my family. It was such a LONG drive....11 hours with stops. And we never left the state!! However, it was so nice to see everyone again and see all the beautiful sights. If you can get up to the Keewenaw...GO, you will love it! Its gorgeous!
Here are some pictures of norah and my little cousin Annie (nine years old...that girl is going to break some hearts some day). Most of the pics of Norah were taken in very old downtown of Calumet...amazing spot for pictures!! I will try to get more posted later...but here are some of my favs.

We were hoping to be gone with Jayme's family on vacation for 4th of July weekend..however we had to stay home. (we missed you guys) So we just "took it easy". Norah played in her little pool...she loves that thing, since we got it she has been in it everyday! On Sunday, we spent the evening with our church family at South Haven. Norah loved it! I mentioned in a previous blog we got to ride on Top Thrill Dragster..well here is a bad video I took of it while we were waiting in line. This was with my point and shoot camera...so all of you out there checking out my "photography skills"...don't judge me ok! =) This video does not show how fast you really go. I may have my stats wrong... but you shoot out of the gate there at 120mph, go up about 300 feet and come back down. It is instense! I loved it!!

I pulled out some pictures from our South Haven trip a couple weekends ago. They haven't been "touched up" so hopefully they come across ok on your computer screen. Norah has been getting used to the beach lately. I did a photo shoot out there last week, and again tonight, and when we pulled up to the beach. She started squealing and clapping. She calls swimming "fwimming"...so cute huh! =)

We had a rough weekend in South Haven...weather wise. But we were able to get some family pictures taken. Here is one of my favorites. I tweaked the picture with some new "actions" i got for Photoshop...just in case anybody wanted to know. =) I am quickly becoming a photoshop junkie!!

Norah, my mom and I are off to Cedar Point to see my sister and my nephew Marshall from NC...we haven't seen them since Christmas and I am looking forward to a fun relaxing weekend together. I did a couple photo shoots this week, so I will post some pics from those after my weekend with my family.

Hi everyone, good grief am I busy. And these storms we have been getting are just a kick in the face for me. This picture is of one of the models we photographed at the workshop I went to. It was so fun! I really learned alot. We had big plans for this past weekend in South Haven, but every evening we had a bad thunderstorm go through...so I had to reschedule the photo shoots I had planned out there. We came home yesterday from South Haven, and found we have had no power all weekend. It came back on while I was at Panera Bread catching up on my Internet life. Well...I get home and realize the cable is out! So we still have no phone, cable, or the kicker.....Internet. So here I am again at Panera Bread....getting some work done with the Internet. Hope everyone is doing well...and that the storms didn't affect everyone else as bad as the did us. Oh...well...there is always something to stress about right?!

Wow....what a busy weekend I had last weekend. I got to attend this amazing photography workshop. I unfortunetly could only go to half of it because I had t wo weddings to photograph....but I am so inspired after going to that workshop. I met some amazing photographers...who are so nice and so willing to share their talent and knowledge of the business. I am in the process of revamping my whole business, and getting a new fancy website...I will let you all know when it is "LIVE"!!
We are going to spend some much needed "family time" in South Haven this weekend. I pray for good weather...I am told it will be hot enough, just as long as the rain stays away. I am doing two photoshoots out on the beach too this weekend....so I will work a little...and Jayme and Norah will be playing alot!. hmmm... that doesn't sound fair. =)

Camping trip

We had great weather for our camping trip...the days were wonderful with friends...the night not so much! =) We were cold, and uncomfortable...so we didn't a second night. But we had a great time. We had our church services out there on Sunday, it was really nice, and fun to sit out side and worship God in a different setting as a church. I am just now peeling from the sunburn I got that weekend. =) Oh well...that is typical for the beginning of the summer for me. Norah had a blast out there...if you notice she has no shoes on. She doesn't like shoes and didn't wear them all weekend. But those sunglasses are awesome aren't they!! Thanks to Grandma and "Puppa" Gregersen.

I had the honor of photographing Tim and Dani's wedding last weekend in Traverse City. It was a beautiful wedding. I have known the two of them since they were in 2nd grade! It was so fun to see people again who I haven't seen in almost 10 years. How time flies. On another note, I just booked #17 for weddings this year. Another successful and very busy year, but that is a good problem to have. Good thing I love my job. =)

May 23rd is Norah's two year old birthday, though we had her party last weekend. She wasn't feeling well that weekend...so she wasn't her normal happy self...but I think she still had fun at her ELMO party.

I am still trying to wrap my mind around the idea of having a two year old...a toddler. I still vividly remember when she was born, and can not believe two short years she was a tiny baby...and now she is a tiny toddler. =) Some of her favorite things right now are : of course ELMO, Winnie the Pooh, Mickey...and any video I have on those three. She loves her baby and baby ELMO. She loves our kitty Lily...but Lily isn't letting her give her any love. This weekend we are going camping with our church. I am looking forward to watching her play with the kids. She should have a great time with everyone....especially since she is now healthy again.

We love our Norah so much and thank God for giving her another year with us. We learned today how precious life is, and how precious children are. My favorite Christian singer (since I was in Junior High) Steven Curtis Chapman suffered a major loss yesterday...his 5 year daughter was killed in a tragic accident at home. My heart just broke when I heard that today. So please hug your children a little tighter tonight, you just never know.

I am so blessed...I honestly believe God gave us the cutest girl ever. I hope I don't offend anyone when I say that...but truth is truth, and Norah is the cutest! This is her at swim class last week. She is so funny there because she is nosy! She watches all the other kids, and doesn't pay any attention to the instructor. Tomorrow night is her last class for the season. It has been really fun with her and these classes.

On a side note, I have been extremely busy this past week with photography work and Norah's birthday party. I will post some pictures of those two events hopefully sooner than later. So please be patient..I hope I don't get too far behind.

I have been so busy this past week, that I didn't even give thought to what Jayme was planning. He planned a party for my 30th birthday! It was so sweet of him to do that. Yesterday, our church had a Mother Daughter Tea..honoring the mothers in our life. I was able to make a slideshow tribute to the mothers in my life and in Norah's life. 30 years old.

On May 6th, I turned 30 years old. As I look back on the life God has given me. I feel so blessed. I have a husband who adores me...treats me better than I have seen any man treat a wife...and a daughter who gives me joy and happiness I never knew I could obtain. I am so thankful for my job, health, family, and the potential of the future. I pray my next thirty years are the same as the last...full of adventure, love and family.

2 year old check up

Norah had her two year old check up last week. She was having the time of her life jumping on the table with the paper on it, and looking at herself in the mirror...then the Dr. and a student came in. She got scared when they looked in her ears, and I wonder if she got poked a little too hard in her ears because she just screamed and cried the just of the session. It was hard on everyone. Well...here are her stats. She weighs 23lbs. She is still under the 10th% for her height and weight...but like the Dr. said...she is gaining consistently and she is still on the chart, so no worries. She is finally growing out of her 12 month jeans. =) She has such little feet...she just grew out of a size 3! =) That is fine with me...I like her little.

My dear friend Rebecca had her third child on May 1st. She has Gracie...2yrs. old. Ella 1 year old, and now little Peter Rocco. We are so excited for them, he is so adorable. I love going to the hospital to visit my friends and their brand new babies. Hmmm....it feels so amazing to hold a newborn baby doesn't it!

We sure got a lot of rain today....of course the day of my garage sale. =) However, it did not keep the people away. I made $150 today! That was quite surprising and exciting...the proceeds of the garage sale are going to Norah's college fund. She is $150 closer to her future dreams.

Today was Jayme's last day of work. All went well in the last few days. He has left on good terms with everyone at the HANTZ GROUP. We will be looking for any kind of work for him so I don't have to work full time for too long. So please pray for us, we know God will provide...He hasn't disappointed us yet.

Change is in the Air

Hi Everyone
We have an announcement. Jayme has decided to resign from his job as of this coming Friday. It was a difficult decision to make, but now that he has made I can tell he is quite relieved and ready to move on with life, and look for a new job. We are unsure what that new job may be. However, we are confident God will direct our path. We are tapping into a deeper faith these days, and will wait for God's direction. I am so blessed to have a physical therapy career that is so flexible. I will be working full time for the next couple weeks....hopefully just a couple weeks. Wedding season is coming, and I don't want to be working this much and try to photograph weddings on weekends, that makes me cringe thinking about all that work! Jayme will be getting some much needed "daddy and norah time" these next few weeks while I am working full time. He has really missed his little girl. I already have a "to do" list one year old for him to accomplish while he has "time off". =) We haven't seen each other that much this past year, and he has had little time for house projects this year...so I am actually excited to see some things get accomplished around here again.
So we ask for prayer as we look for a new job for Jayme. We both have a peace about this decision, and will keep you all posted on any news.

Big news!!

Lately, Norah when she has gone "poopy" will bring me her diapers and wipes...they girl doesn't like a dirty diaper at all...she doesn't like being "yucky". So I knew we were getting close to the potty training phase. Well two days ago she was getting ready for a bath, and came out and told me "potty". She sits on her little potty chair alot ...puts her doll on the potty, puts "Snuggles" the bear on the potty..but two days ago SHE WENT POTTY! Big news in the Gregersen household. Maybe it was a fluke thing and won't happen again for weeks. But it is a milestone, and it means my baby is growing up! When I tell people that...I hear "time for another one"...and I just smile and say..."not yet" I am still trying to figure this one out. =)

Hope you all had as exciting of a week as we did! Don't forget to celebrate the little things in life...like being able to go potty in the appropiate place! =)

I photographed little baby Kylie this past weekend. Isn't she so cute!! She was probably the easiest baby I have had yet. That makes my job a little easier. =) I just love photographing babies...they are naturally photogenic. I have another photo shoot on Wed. with two sisters...one is 2yrs. old and the younger one is 16 months...that one might require some extra energy. =)

Norah is having a good weekend....these pictures were actually taken last week...but we hope everyone is having a great weekend, and enjoying this beautiful weather. We have had a busy Saturday. We were at church all morning for an Eschatology Seminar...so good! (The study of End Times Seminar). Then Jayme and I and some other friends from church went to the homeless shelter downtown and played BINGO with the homeless. It was fun to see them all having a good time. You then thank God for allowing you to have a comfortable home to go to each night. Then I had a photo shoot with a beautiful baby girl...her name is Kylie. I will be working on her pictures tonight and try to put some on here later. So hope you all had a great Saturday...we did! =)

Baby Gavin

This is an update about the little baby...Gavin...who I asked for prayer a couple months ago. He had surgery last week, and it went very well. His mom said he is home now and recovering amazingly well. I was so happy to hear that...I can't imagine feeling so helpless like that knowing your 8 week old baby is having major heart surgery. I am hoping to do his 3 month old pictures in the near future, and I will try to post some of them on here, so you all can see how well he is doing. Thank you to those who have prayed and asked about him. Melissa

Hi Grandma...this blog posting is just for you. =) I know you didn't want your picture taken, but thank you for doing it. Norah and I will treasure these pictures of you two. Though they are kind of blurry and norah was looking all over the place...they show the deep love you have for Norah. We love you too!!! We will try to come visit again soon. First time doing video

I have been saving my photography money for a new video camera... another techy toy for me. =) Well....I saved enough and was able to get it last week. So here is the first video clip I have taken and I am experimenting with it to see if I am able to upload to the blog. Hope this works. Norah is talking...with our help. =) Her daddy has been trying to teach her how to say "Go Cubbies"....some days she is a cubs fan...somedays she is not. =) She is really starting to say alot more words...its so fun.

We have a fun weekend planned...tomorrow my dad, norah and I are going to visit Grandma Opal and Aunt Shirley for the day. We will get some pictures and post them on here when we get back. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Rick and Kelly were so fun to watch last week.

They did a great job. Norah LOVED all the music, she was dancing in the bleachers. It was really warm in there and she was sweating quite a bit, but it didn't stop her from dancing. She loved it! Congrats Rick and Kel!

Here are some pics from the most recent wedding I did. It was a fun one to do. I don't have any weddings in April, but come May..."it starts"...I have wedding after wedding. Pray for the Gregersen Family...if life wasn't stressful enough for us, this summer will definetly make sure it is! =)

I tried again to get Norah's picture with her special dress on. She made it challenging...again. Good thing she is cute. =) We had a good day today at home...playing outside and enjoying the beautiful Spring weather. Norah has rediscovered he sand box, and loves it. Though she likes to dump the sand out. We have high hopes for the summer, it just feels so good to be able to be outside again.

I am sorry you can not see the whole outfit. I plan to try to get a better photograph of her in her Easter dress....hopefully outside if the weather will cooperate one of these days/weeks.

So once we get the weather to cooperate...then we need Norah too also. So...we shall see how that all works out. =)
